FAQ'S
You've got questions - we've got answers.
And if we don't, we'll make something up (wink wink)
DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?
We schedule everything, including consultations. Before you get bummed out, let us share our perspective. We feel appointments are good for a couple reasons: if you are the one being tattooed, it means you are getting the artist's undivided attention, free from constant interruptions. It also helps keep the artist relatively sane because they are not having to transition back and forth between the phone to the tattoo to the random walk in....and a relatively sane artist is a happy artist. Happy artists make better tattoos. An appointment doesn't necessarily mean a long wait time. We can frequently get you in within a week and sometimes a day ahead.
DO YOU DO PIERCINGS?
We do not. We're scared of needles that go all the way through. We recommend our friends at Enso or Koi.
WILL YOU TATTOO
UNDER 18?
Sorry, no, we will not tattoo anyone under the age of 18, whether you have parental consent or not. We do offer a $25 discount off your first tattoo with us if you schedule on or near your 18th birthday. Please mention that in the form when you reach out. You are welcome to do consultations to plan and schedule your tattoo before you are 18, as long as the tattoo appointment itself is on or after your 18th birthday.
HOW DO I PROVIDE A DESIGN?
Here's the good news - you don't have to! Well, it helps if you have an idea in mind, but bringing the design to life is the artist's job. We want the finished tattoo to be unique and exactly right for you. If you're looking for something simple, a phrase or a small linework image, then that is very straightforward. However, we don't necessarily need any images at all from you to design your tattoo. A list of items that you want included and a general idea of the style you're looking for are enough. You don't need to search far and wide for examples or references; it's the artists job to articulate your vision into the drawing. If you do look at other tattoos for inspiration, please do it with an eye for showing the style you want rather than trying to find an exact tattoo of the exact subject you want. We want to help you create YOUR tattoo, not simply copy someone else's tattoo. A small selection showing shading styles, color combos, or elements you like is helpful for your artist hone in on the finer details and can aid communication during the consult. A word of caution on AI: sometimes a prompt can help you visualize your thoughts or how the placement may look on your body. HOWEVER: AI images are usually not "tattooable" because AI does not understand the limits of line weight and how ink works on living skin to hold up over time. So if you must use it, please think of it as a starting point for discussion of the design rather than the final result.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
Well, that's the million dollar question, isn't it? (Pun very much intended). There are many variables that affect the amount of time any given design will take. Please take advantage of our FREE consultations in which the artist can discuss with you in detail and use that info to give you an accurate price estimate. Schedule your consult using the booking form on the site or text us at 801-485-2294.
CAN I BOOK A GROUP TATTOO APPOINTMENT
The short answer is yes; the longer answer is: it depends on how many are in your group and how far in advance you plan. We always recommend planning as far ahead of time as you can. If your group spontaneously decides to get a tattoo tomorrow, 99.99999% of the time we will unfortunately not be able to get you in. If you are able to be more proactive in planning, we would love to welcome your group. To avoid confusion on our end (it happens) we recommend that you designate one person to run interference for your group, and have that person fill out the booking form with their contact info. In the notes section, please let us know how many people want to get tattooed, if you have a date in mind, along with all the other info like what/where/style etc. for each person. We will go from there and help you coordinate a plan that works for everyone.
HOW DO I GET SCHEDULED?
Consultations are always free! You can do the consult in person or as a scheduled phone call, whichever works better for your schedule. Please fill out our form to get started. During the consultation, there will be lots of questions to help figure out size, placement, and and the overall design vision. From there, he will be able to tell you how many sessions you will need along with a price quote. If you're ready to proceed, you can schedule tattoo appointments. Available dates and times can be chosen during the consultation.
WHAT DO I DO FOR AFTERCARE?
We will provide you everything you need for aftercare of your tattoo, it is included as part of our services. This includes a tattoo barrier film which is intended to stay on for several days to protect the tattoo. We also provide a special aftercare balm we like you to use once the film is removed until the tattoo is fully healed. We have printed detailed aftercare instructions that will be given to you at the end of your appointment. We welcome all questions about aftercare. If you have any concerns about how your tattoo is healing please let us know by calling or texting 801-485-2294.
WOW, YOU GUYS SEEM SUPER CHILL. IS THERE
ANYTHING YOU WON'T DO?
Wow, thank you, and thanks for asking. We believe tattoos are for everyone and welcome hearing your ideas, no matter how big or small the tattoo may be, or if someone at another shop told you it was silly. We are happy to talk with you about any tattoo ideas or concerns. We want to make your tattoo the best piece of art it can be, and for you to have a good experience start to finish. We welcome all ages (18 and older - our current record holder for oldest client getting a first tattoo is 86!!) We don't discriminate against any race, gender, sexual orientation, or religious background. We wholeheartedly support members of the LGBTQIA+ community. ALL THAT SAID: We do have a few things to which we must give a hard pass: - No firearms in the shop. - No harassing of artists or other guests. - We reserve the right to refuse to tattoo anyone who is intoxicated/otherwise incapacitated or behaving erratically. - No tattoo designs that promote hatred toward any group, ie gang signs, white supremecy nonsense, or anything that promotes violence toward others. Just be cool and be kind, dude. - We will not add cremation remains or any other foreign substance to the ink. - Please don't taunt the artists. They are sensitive souls and you might make them cry and it will smear the tattoo.
